Movement starts in Hungary.
1998
CFM Hungary National
Couple Balazs and Krisztina Ménesi meet Fr Gabriel Calvo, Founder
of Marriage Encounter, Marriage Retorno and FIRES, and his
colleague Fr Donnon Murray OFM at the 11th General Assembly
of ICCFM (International
Confederation of Christian Family Movements).
The Ménesi couple ask for, and receive, the consent of Msgr. László Bíró, Bishop
for the Family, of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference, to introduce
Fr Gabriel Calvo’s original programmes in Hungary.
1999
With the consent of the Author, the first Original Marriage
Encounter is presented by Fr Donnon Murray OFM in Hungary.
2000
Hungarian National
Couple and a presenting priest attend the 25th Anniversary
of FIRES in Rome.
The second Original Marriage Encounter and the first Sons and
Daughters Encounter are presented by Fr Donnon Murray OFM.
Msgr. László Bíró first meets Fr Gabriel Calvo at the 3rd European
Congress of ICCFM, Prague.
2001
The first Marriage Retorno and Priest Encounter are presented by Fr Donnon
Murray OFM. Among the participants of the Priest Encounter are Msgr László
Bíró and Msgr Antal Majnek OFM, Bishop for the Family, of the Ukrainian Catholic
Bishops’ Conference.
2002
FIRES Engaged
Encounter, Self Encounter and Family Communication Workshop
are presented for the first time in Hungary by Fr Donnon Murray
OFM.
2003
FIRES Sons and Daughters Retorno and Marriage Re-Encounter
are presented for the first time in Hungary by Fr Donnon Murray
OFM.
Hungarian organizer couples and presenting priests meet with
Fr Gabriel Calvo in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Sons and Daughters Encounter and Original Marriage Encounter start in the Hungarian
speaking part of the Ukraine.
2004
FIRES Family Encounter is presented for the first
time in Hungary by Fr Donnon Murray OFM.
Engaged Encounter and Sons and Daughters Retorno start in the
Hungarian speaking part of the Ukraine.
2005
Self
Encounter starts in the Hungarian speaking part of the Ukraine.
Introduced by Fr Donnon
Murray and experienced by Hungarian priests, the programmes by
Fr Gabriel Calvo have been organized regularly by CFM/FIRES Hungary.
Several priests and couples are involved in this service. Bishop
László Bíró presents Priest Encounters for priests every second
year.
FIRES programmes, offered within and outside of CFM, greatly contribute to the
spiritual enrichment of CFM as well as to the increasing number of its member
families, especially young married couples.
The number of participants of all Encounter programmes held
in Hungary since 1999 exceeds two thousand. |
